About Troop 633
Troop 633 is chartered by
New Kirk Presbyterian Church, 491 Langford Rd, Blythewood, SC 29016. The Troop membership includes Scouts of all ages. Ours is a boy-lead Troop which means that the Troop elected Scouts provide overall leadership for Scout activities and Troop adult leaders serve advisory, safety, and logistics roles in the background. The Troop is lead by the Senior Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, both elected by the Scouts. We have Patrols, each lead by a Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader. Troop leaders are elected for 6 month terms.
Troop 633 meets Monday evenings year-round at 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at New Kirk Presbyterian Church. The first meeting of each month is the Patrol Leader Council meeting led by the youth Scout leaders to plan and discuss upcoming activities. Quarterly, the Troop holds a Court of Honor ceremony to formally recognize Scout achievements over the past quarter, highlight the Troop's recent activities, review upcoming calendar events, and communicate troop and council news to the parents.
Our Troop activities include monthly camping trips (most months), high adventure camps, annual summer camp, merit badge opportunities, and community service projects.
