Why Our Troop is Different

We have a new homepage.  Please visit us at:

Unlike many other Boy Scout troops where the adults decide things for the Scouts, the Scouts of Troop 204 are organized into Patrols and make decisions for themselves (Boy-Led Troop).  Patrol Leaders are voted in by the members of the Patrol and the Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) is in charge of all the Scouts in the Troop. The SPL is voted in every year via Scout vote.  Among other things, the Scouts of Troop 204 decide which Campouts and other activities the Troop is going to do in the coming year(s).  Adult leaders guide the Scouts and provide a safe environment for the Scouts to learn how to make responsible decisions and be effective leaders while having fun in the challenging realm of the outdoors.
